We plan the fireplace behind the wall first.
Linear gas fireplaces, inserts and log sets, wood burning units and outdoor fire features, plus repair, chimney sweeps and inspections. Because we also do HVAC, the fireplace, its venting and the ducts get planned together.

A good share of our fireplace repair calls come after someone else has already been out. We diagnose first, then quote the fix.

Gas fireplaces
We install linear and traditional gas fireplaces and handle everything behind them: the gas line, the sealed vent, the framing and the permit.
Inserts and log sets
An old masonry fireplace can take a gas insert or a log set.
Wood fireplaces
We install traditional and high efficiency wood burning fireplaces, with the flue sized for the unit and every clearance checked against the manufacturer's manual.
Outdoor fire features
For fire pits, fire bowls and outdoor fireplaces, we build the gas line, find a safe setting and list the permit in your proposal.
Fireplace repair
Pilots, valves, remotes, glass and log sets.
Chimney sweeps and inspections
Level 1 and Level 2 inspections and chimney sweeps, with drop cloths on your floors and a gas leak and carbon monoxide test.
What we install.
We install the fireplace lines your designer specifies, and we handle the gas line, venting, framing coordination and permits.

What's inside the wall.
A gas line sized and pressure tested, a sealed vent run up to the roof, and clearances checked against the manufacturer's manual. Most of what keeps a fireplace safe is hidden inside the wall, which is why we show it before the plaster goes on.

Repair, sweeps and inspections.
Gas fireplace diagnosis and repair is a large part of our service work. Every visit ends with a gas leak and carbon monoxide test, and our sweeps start with drop cloths on your floors.

Describe the problem.
Tick what your fireplace is doing. This writes a short message you can text or read on the phone. Jeremy does the diagnosis on the visit.
Safety first. If you smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave the building and call 911 first.
Call or text (805) 699-1112 and tell Jeremy what you ticked.
Stop here. Leave the building now. From outside, call 911 and the SoCalGas emergency line at 1-800-427-2200. Call us once everyone is safe.

Common questions.
Anything else, call or text me.
How much does a gas fireplace installation cost?
It depends on the unit, the venting route, the framing and the finish. Estimates are free and pricing is flat rate, so the number we quote is the number you pay. Call (805) 699-1112 and we'll walk the room.
Do I need a permit to install or replace a fireplace?
Gas lines, venting and new appliances generally require a permit and inspection. Your proposal lists the permit and its cost, and we handle the inspections with the city or county where you live.
Can I put a linear fireplace under a TV?
Sometimes. Heat rises above the unit, so the manufacturer's clearance and the finished wall have to allow it. We check the manual and plan the wall before framing.
How often should a chimney be inspected or swept?
Standard guidance, including NFPA 211, is to have a chimney inspected at least once a year. Sweep it when the inspection shows buildup.
What is the difference between a Level 1 and a Level 2 inspection?
A Level 1 is a visual and safety check of the readily accessible parts of the fireplace and chimney. A Level 2 adds an HD camera scan of the flue, and is the usual choice when buying or selling a home or after a change to the system.
Do you convert a wood burning fireplace to gas?
Often. We inspect the firebox and chimney first, then recommend a liner, gas logs, an insert or a repair depending on its condition and how you want to use it.
Call or text Jeremy.
Tell me about the room or the system and we'll set up a free estimate. For a repair, text me a photo of the unit first. It often saves a trip.
