Our own jobs, before the walls close and after.
Everything here is a J & J's job in Santa Barbara County, photographed by the crew. Tap any photo to see it full size. We add new ones as jobs finish, and post them on Instagram as they happen.
Before
AfterA kiva fireplace, from lath to plaster.
The firebox and vent go in first. Then the steel lath is shaped by hand around them, and the plaster goes on last. Once it's finished, nobody sees the part that makes it safe.
Rough in
Fireboxes set and vents run while the framing is still open. This is the stage nobody sees once the plaster goes on.

Finished fireplaces
Linear units, inserts, log sets and freestanding stoves, in plaster, stone and steel.

Outdoor fire
Fire bowls and pits, plumbed for gas and built to take the weather.

Heating and air
Outdoor units on pads, furnaces in tight closets, and what a tune up finds.

Inspections
A Level 2 inspection runs a camera the full length of the flue and records what it sees, so the report shows the chimney rather than describing it.

Service and care
Drop cloths first. Sweeps and service with the floors and furniture covered.

We post installs and service calls as they happen.
